There is no universal standard accepted to evaluate the functioning of an ultrasonic cleaning equipment. The classic test of tin foil is the traditionally most used method. When using any of these methods, it‚Äôs important to make sure that any change indicates a true variation in the ultrasonic functioning and is not related with a temperature change, chemical concentration or any other variable.
Many cleaning requirements demand different ultrasonic frequencies. At low frequency level (28Khz) the implosion of the water molecule is of a bigger size but less in quantity, that working for example at 40 Khz. In this workrange, we obtain a smaller implosion number but much more quantity, reaching a total 100% part cleaning.
The amount of ultrasonic power expressed in watts/litres depends on the size of the cleaning tank. There is an equation watts/litres that needs to be respected to get a good response from the ultrasonic equipment and is that of 10watts/litres. The achievement of the same cleaning effect in tanks as from 1000 litres, requires less power density, because there is a big working area for the ultrasonic cavitation.
Ultrasonic energy, has no measurable impact on human audition, in fact there are no set limits for the exposition to frequencies in the range of 40 KHZ (40.000 implosions per second). Ultrasounds transmitted through the air, has no known effect on body tissue. Ultraounds, as a matter of fact, are widely used for the projection of body images.
Degassing the water inside the tank is the process in which we eliminate all the oxygen molecules that are inside it. Dissolved gas, if not removed, migrates in bubbles of the cavitation during its formation and avoids their violent implosion to promote their the effect and they also absorb the ultrasonic energy reducing effective intensity inside the tank. The oxygen molecule, acts to soften the implosion bubble, like the airbag of a car. The degassing will be a time of no less than 4 hours, ust with the action of the ultrasound and with no detergent. When we see at simple sight thata there are no more bubbles reaching for the surface, it means that the water is in optimum conditions to add the detergent and start the cleaning process.
